Why is a CV important?
A CV is a short summary of your my skills, experience and qualifications. Majority of the time when applying for new work, it is the first chance you get to introduce myself to a potential employer and show them why I am a great candidate for the job. Employers and recruiters can have tens or even hundreds of CVs to sort through for each job application, so it's important to create a CV that stands out from the crowd.
Nearly every time you apply for a job, you will have to submit a CV, usually along with a customised cover letter. A CV allows me to highlight all of my relevant professional and academic experience, and show my employer that Im the right candidate for the job. A well-crafted CV will contain my most relevant professional experience, skills and qualifications that I have acquired over the years of education and past employment. Since employers may have a large number of CVs to look through, making this information stand out is very important to ensuring that my CV is unique and stands out from the rest. A good CV might use formatting elements such as colour and layout to make sure the employer sees the most important information.
The most important information on the CV should appear towards the top of the page. This might include my job role, any relevant qualifications or a short personal statement that clearly tells the employer why I,d be a outstanding fit for the role. I could also choose to add a headshot (Close up photo shot) or a professional logo or use visual elements like colours, I could also use a creative layout to grab the employer's attention.
